Peter continues to shape the identity of believers as exiles and sojourners, calling us to a life of holiness and honor among the nations. In this passage, we are exhorted to abstain from sinful desires, live honorably among unbelievers, submit to earthly authorities, and follow in the footsteps of Christ, who suffered unjustly yet entrusted Himself to God. This sermon will explore how Christians are to live distinct yet engaged lives in a world that does not share our values. Through submission, good conduct, and Christlike endurance, we bear witness to the gospel and glorify God in a watching world.
